New SD15 propeller hub from Flexofold shown for first time at Boat Show Denmark 2nd-5th March 2023
Vejle, Denmark, 2 March 2023– Flexofold, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of folding propellers for sailboats, launches a new and improved SD15 propeller hub for the SD15 saildrive.
Collaboratively designed by the engineering and technical teams at Flexofold and YANMAR, the improved hub sits flush with the sail drive gear housing, providing more efficiency through lower drag under sail. The new improved hub is designed for the Flexofold 3 and 4-blade sail drive folding propellers and manufactured in Denmark using Nickel Aluminium Bronze.
Kristjan Pigsborg Kristjansen, Chief Sales & Marketing, of Flexofold commented, ‘For some time now we’ve seen a growing demand from our customers for a bigger hub to create a closer fit to the sail drive gear housing to reduce drag. The resultant aesthetically clean lines the team have created has provided a more pleasing product which is a bonus.’
