Press release -
VETUS to Support Social Media Duo’s Inspiring New Boat Building Venture
VETUS, the complete marine systems specialist, has signed a new sponsorship deal with celebrated social media influencers, Duca and Roberta to support the couple’s latest endeavour, a new build 43-foot aluminium deck saloon sailboat as part of their Odd Life Crafting project. Under the sponsorship agreement, VETUS will supply a full range of its market leading marine products to help the Brazilian couple get their ambitious sailing project underway.
Duca and Roberta have built a huge following on YouTube and Instagram since they embarked on their lifelong dream project, Odd Life Crafting, which they set up 7 years ago after completing a sabbatical trip around Australia, Indonesia, Thailand and New Zealand. Fuelled by a desire to live their lives to the full, without restriction, the couple has already achieved a number of impressive goals including the construction of a house built from a shipping container and the refit of a badly neglected 44-foot steel sailboat, which they lived on for 2 years while exploring the Brazilian coastline before sailing to the Caribbean.
Duca and Roberta’s latest sailboat acquisition is being built from the ground up in collaboration with French boatbuilders Meta, who are currently constructing the hull.
Roberta comments: “Partnering with a leading brand like VETUS is a huge milestone for us. We have wanted to work with VETUS since we restored our first boat, “Odd” back in 2019 because they have such a broad lineup of good quality products. In fact, if you have ever been on a boat before, there is a huge chance that you have already used one of their 4,000 products from their extensive catalog.”
Duca continues: “We recently enjoyed a site visit to the VETUS headquarters and warehouse to meet with their team in person, to talk with their expert engineers to gain a better understanding of the products we are going to be using to build our 43ft deck saloon sailboat project. Rest assured you will be seeing a lot of VETUS in our upcoming videos and social media content, so be sure to check them out for any of your boating needs.”
The duo has so far accumulated a following of 244K on YouTube and 25.9K on Instagram, where they share the behind-the-scenes action of their latest ventures and everyday life experiences.
Commenting on the partnership, Sander Gesink, VETUS Marketing Director remarks: “We were initially introduced to Duca and Roberta at the METS Trade show in 2022. Hearing firsthand about the pair’s experiences and ongoing projects, along with their enthusiasm and preference towards VETUS products, underscored their suitability as ideal partners for our brand. The collaboration enables us to supply an array of products for this incredible boat-building project, while ensuring Duca and Roberta have steadfast sales and customer service support, no matter where they are in the world, whenever they need it.”
